We Form Partnerships
Program Partners
CARITAS works almost exclusively with Congregations of Catholic Men and Women Religious who are located at the sites where the sponsored children live. At present, CARITAS is working with partners in Poland and in Uganda. There are plans for expansion into other areas. Just with the three congregations of sisters located in Poland there are at least 20 other countries where Child Sponsorship opportunities exist.Programs are also being considered for South America, Central America and the Middle East. There is much to do. And as time and growing numbers of sponsors come to CARITAS, enabling the programs to be supported, new programs can be developed.
The creation of a new program starts first with the connection of a Catholic Congregation of Men or Women Religious and their resources and a plan to educate, feed, nurture and develop children and their surrounding communities. CARITAS is blessed with solid relationships among those already actively providing their services with support from CARITAS sponsors and donors.
Liaison Partners
In our vision for growing Child Sponsorship, CARITAS is developing a nationally based network of “Liaisons For Caritas.” In this role, Caritas has two meanings. Caritas Love is God’s Love. It is the kind of neighborly Agape love that Christ has commanded us all to give when He told His disciples to “Love One Another…:“THIS IS MY COMMANDMENT: LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I LOVE YOU” (John 15:12)
This is an important part of the vision and mission of CARITAS. Of course, being a liaison in this way is also a Liaison FOR CARITAS to help the membership of sponsors, donors, advisors and all other stakeholders of CARITAS exist.
The primary goal for our Liaisons is to work in their circles of influence to tell people about CARITAS and to create connections between individuals and entities and CARITAS programs. To be a Liaison, one must first be Christ centered. That is to say, he or she must have willingness to care and love people as brothers and sisters in Christ and to understand and promote His great love for us all. Whatever gifts each Liaison has to share with others, he or she must understand the nature and mission of CARITAS to organize their time and talent to bring people to this mission of love in practical ways that build long-term relationships and caring connections.
