St. Kizito Orphans' Care - Sponsor an Orphaned African Child to a Boarding School Safe Haven and Superior Education

Our goal is to develop longterm relationships for the children with sponsors that are one on one-person to person, as in a family situation. The Stella Maris Boarding Primary School in Nkokongeru, Uganda can provide the food & shelter. Sister Immaculate and her staff can provide the onsite teaching, guidance, housing, nutrition and care. Can you provide the financial support and emotional bonding to let a distant child be made fully whole and feel wanted and loved? The cost of this program is $1000 per year per sponsored child. We prefer donors who will support the essential bonding relationship with correspondence and remain involved with the child through her tender and formative years.

Below is just one of the children in Uganda that is at this time an orphaned child in desperate need of a sponsor. The links on the lower left provide a chance for you to see why the advantages of Stella Maris Boarding Primary School can make a real difference in the life of an orphaned or abandoned child. Sponsors for this program are not merely providing for a seat and a book. You are truly helping raise the child.

Your $1000 sponsorship to Stella Maris will provide the following opportunities to your child for a year:
  • education and boarding at Stella Maris Boarding Primary School-consistantly ranked as one of Uganda's best primary schools

PRIMARY LEAVING EXAMINATIONS (P.L.E)

Stella Maris Boarding School Ranks 3rd among the Top Ten schools in the

National Exam.

Stella Maris is listed among the top 10 primary schools in the whole country of Uganda.

Sr. Immaculate headmistress, of Stella Maris Primary Boarding School is pleased to share the splendid outcome of her school. Stella Maris was the 3rd of the top 10 schools that excelled nationwide. The school had 68 students that did the National Primary Leaving Certificate (PLE 2005) to graduate from 7th grade. A total of 39 girls qualified with 1st grade (A) and another 29 achieved the 2nd grade B. All the candidates from Stella Maris School qualified for high school. Most of the children in the neighboring schools reported grade C level with few exceptions of B. Our gratitude goes to Caritas For Children and all our beloved sponsors for supporting our education, said Sr. Immaculte lsosf.

Retreat: The teachers, students and staff at Stella Maris had a special retreat from February 15-18 to thank God for the good performance, to pray for their sponsors, benefactors, and to ask God’s blessings to accompany them throughout the new semester. Among their intentions for the retreat, students also prayed for other needy children who are waiting for the kindness more people to give them a similar chance for education as well.

It takes a whole village to raise a child. We are grateful to our sponsors, Caritas For Children, and Families of St. Eugene parish for becoming part of our global village to educate the orphaned children from Nkokonjeru at Stella Maris School. Left alone they struggle in vain, but together we are making a difference in these children’s lives.

God bless you all for your generosity,

By Sr. Evelyn Nanyama lsosf
